Margot Bellon and Isabel Wang are the Founders and Executive Directors of Bridging Tech. Their nonprofit organization focuses on achieving educational equity and improving social justice among children affected by poverty. Together they built their organization from the ground up through their respective life experiences to combat the digital divide.
Margot saw the first-hand effects of technology inequality through her own experience, from working as a tutor for middle and high school students in low-income neighborhoods to her volunteer work at a women’s homeless shelter in the San Francisco Bay Area. That led to her understanding of how integral technology is in offering high-quality education and closing the digital divide to create a more equitable future.
Isabel witnessed prevailing education disparities at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through her research, she learned from homeless shelters across the country that under-resourced students lacked the necessary devices for school attendance and their educational journeys. Since then, Isabel has wanted to be a part of the solution. She believes that every person can change the world and just need the right set of tools.
