Meet Dan Pugmire, a 2019 Jefferson Award recipient celebrated by KNIN Fox 9. Dan is a respected veteran and amputee who has forever changed the Treasure Valley community through his efforts to improve conditions for veterans. Dan founded the Idaho Veterans Garden, building it from the ground up with generous donations from the community. The garden is not only a place to honor fallen heroes but also serves as a relaxed and comfortable environment that provides veterans with resources.

Jefferson Award winners James Campbell, Jr. and Mike Thompson co-founded the Wisconsin chapter of Never Forgotten Honor Flight (NFHF), an organization that flies veterans to Washington D.C. to see memorials dedicated to their service. Since its inception, the NFHF has enabled thousands of soldiers to pay their respects to their fellow comrades.

Tracey Richburg was recognized with a Jefferson Award by WTGHS FOX 28 Savannah for her "mouthwatering" approach to tackling homelessness among local veterans.

Jeff Klare, a 2018 recipient of our Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Award, is the founder of Be A Hero, Hire A Hero. He's helping veterans who face a stark reality when they return from the battlefield.
